on the first row is as follows: Alison Hebeisen, Kathleen Blakeney, and Nadia
Neil. On the top row: Katherine Carr, me (of course), and Tara Murray. I am so
blessed to have these girls on my team, and to be sharing such a life changing
experience with them is a gift straight from heaven and I thank the Giver for
it.
Alison is such a strong woman of God. She is our team leader while in
Uganda, which in short means that she does everything I rather not do. Meaning
she takes care of the money, calling Tag (our boss) to debrief, and making sure
we do feedback and keep to the schedule. The gift of leadership is so apparent
and she is a gift of heaven giving decisiveness to my poor indecisive soul. I
love her dearly and am so grateful to have such a woman who is so strong in the
Spirit and in character on my team. She is also hilarious and her faces always
make me laugh. Alison is one in a million and I am proud and thankful to have
her as a member of this team and walking out that leadership role that not many
know how to walk in such wisdom at such a young age. Her blog can be found at alisonhebeisen.myadventures.org.
Kathleen is so sweet. She is the eldest member of our team and has such
a mother's heart. If someone is sick or in need of anything you can bet
Kathleen is their giving and comforting. She has wonderful wisdom and such a
tender and humble spirit. She inspires me daily and her walk with God is so
intimate and sweet to watch. She also is hilarious and can do a wonderful old
Marge voice which she has promised to awaken us with every morning! Also she
has the special talent of singing in an Alvin chipmunk voice. It mesmerizes the
kids and I especially love it. She is a special treasure and the practical
wisdom she brings to the team is a blessing. Her blog can be found at kathleenblakeney.myadventures.org.
Nadia...Nadia is simply wonderful. She is the encourager. If someone is
down she is always there to scratch their back or speak an encouraging word.
She always brings a smile to my face. You never have to wonder what she is
thinking and she is so raw and honest. I love her dearly for there is no
pretence with her and her honest walk with God is amazing to watch. She
inspires me daily with her abandonment. She knows who she is and she is not
ashamed to walk it out, to be herself to the fullest extent. I love it and hope
some of that rawness from her honest soul pours out on me. Unique, treasured,
and dearly loved. Her blog can be found at nadianeil.myadventures.org.
K.C. is a warrior. She is tenderly fierce. If someone or something she
loves dearly is touched or defiled, you can bet she will fight in righteousness
to the end until it is again restored. His Warrior Bride. Bold as a lion. She
also has a beautiful servant's heart. She is the one always serving in secret.
Doing those small touches, small acts of service that so many never notice but
her Father in heaven sees and is delighted. It humbles and inspires me every
time I catch a glimpse of it. She hungers after God and is so honest and humble
wherever she is. I am blessed to have such a mighty woman of God on my team and
hope to learn from her boldness. She can always make me smile and her laugh is
infectious. Joyous, pure, bold, and strong. Her blog can be found at katherinecarr.myadventures.org.
Tara...Tara holds a treasure of wisdom within her depths. She is the one
that always keeps us on schedule. She brings the structure that our team needs
desperately. She is quick to discern what another needs, what our team needs to
do to serve to the fullest. Her voice carries authority, her prayers passion,
her smile humbleness. To watch her with kids is beautiful, you see Jesus when
she plays with children. They are attracted to her. If there is a shy one, one
who is not so quick to come out of his or her shell you can be sure that Tara
can draw them out. She is amazing, a quiet one who hold immeasurable strength
and wisdom within her depths. I love her to dearly and she is a treasured
blessing to our team. Her blog can be found at taramurray.myadventures.org.
This is my team and my gifts from heaven, straight from the Father's
hand. I thank the Giver for them and am blessed beyond measure to share this
experience with them. Keep each of us in your prayers. Especially as we leave
for Lapallagana and minister to the women and children at the colonia during
our outreach.
